60 min-2 hrs: Beginner & women’s ride, 1:00 p.m. at Storm Endurance Sports

2-3 hrs: Advanced ride, 1:00 p.m. at Storm Endurance Sports

MT RIDES

 

Night Mt bike Ride: 90 min- 2 hrs intermediate ride, 6:00 p.m. at Governor’s creek on Dirt and pavement back roads, no trail

BEGINNER& WOMEN RIDES

These rides will be an easy pace done, on lightly traveled roads from Governor’s Creek parking area. This ride is a great way for the entry-level rider to gain experience, confidence and enjoy the benefits of cycling with friends.

INTERMEDIATE RIDES

Moderate paced (16-19 mph) rides. Focus will be on a good steady pace with riders trying to stay together and get in some nice, moderate paced endurance training in a group setting. Riders will begin at Fit To Be Tried at 5:30 or Governor’s Creek at 6:00 p.m.

ADVANCED RIDE, 80 minutes-2 hours (Tue)

Riders will begin at Fit To Be Tried (5:30 p.m.) and ride 5 miles out to governor’s Creek or riders can Begin at Governor’s Creek parking area at 6:00 p.m.. This ride can get pretty fast (22-27 mph) and will be one lap around a 25-mile loop course from governor’s Creek.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTERMEDIATE MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDES

This will be a moderate, but steady paced mountain bike ride on country back roads. We will do a 90-100 minute loop of 65% dirt and 35% pavement with very little traffic. There will be no trail riding unless you want to add a loop of Governor’s creek at the end. You will need at least a small headlight and definitely a blinky taillight. The Route: Start Governor’s Creek Right on Underwood Rd until it intersects w/Harrington Rd (Steel Bridge) Left on Harrington Rd (Steel Bridge) Left on Carbonton Rd

  • Right on Glendon Carthage Rd
  • Left on Putnam-Glendon Rd
  • Left on Cool springs Rd (stay left where it intersects w/Kelley Plantation)
  • Left on Glendon-Carthage Rd
  • Right on Harrington rd (Steel Bridge)
  • Right on Underwood, follow this back to Governor’s creek


GROUP TRAINING

Indoor cycling rides start at 6:00 p.m. sharp. Bring in your trainer or use one of ours (call for availability). 30-40 min interval and form drill workouts to meet the base requirements needed to get you ready for your spring training program. 5 minutes of core work and 5 minutes of light stretching, out the door at 7:00 p.m.

  • Heading North on US 1 in Sanford, Take a left (at Hardee’s intersection) onto center Church Rd, 5 miles at T intersection, left on Plank Rd, next right on Staunton hill Rd, next right on Underwood, go 7/10 of a mile, Governor’s Creek parking area is on the right.
  • Governor’s Creek: Heading South on US 1 in Sanford, Take a right (at Hardee’s intersection) onto center Church Rd, 5 miles at T intersection, left on Plank Rd, next right on Staunton hill Rd, next right on Underwood, go 7/10 of a mile, Governor’s Creek parking area is on the right.

Storm Endurance Sports

  • Heading North on US 1 in Sanford, Look for Village Plaza Shopping Center on your right, across from Jackson Brothers Produce and Barbecue
  • Heading South on US 1 in Sanford, Go through the 2nd stoplight, go ½ mile more, Look for Village Plaza Shopping Center on your left, across from Jackson Brothers Produce and Barbecue
